[Minireferendum] News: on index only or per forum?

OK, I've got the newsfeed on the index page now.

It's possible to keep it like this, with a blend of news on the index page only.

Or I can add forum-specific news to the actual forum - i.e. P&S would have political news, Music would have musical news, and so on. These news would be visible only when you enter the forum and view the topics.

What do you think?

I like the idea of having specific newsfeeds on specific forums - i.e. in games have gaming news, in music have music news. I think keeping the headlines on the main index page is a good idea though.

Would we like a test? I.e. if I put some entertainment news in the Lifestyle forum for the time being?

A test just to see what it would look like? Might be an idea.

I just don't see the point in putting music/games/entertainment news in the main panel on the index page it makes sense to me that if you're going to have it then have it in the right section. If the vote goes against then I'd say don't bother with any entertainment type news on the index page - just leave it as news headlines.

I agree with Hano there. If it looks cool and is well placed it could be muy handy.

OK, I'm looking into how to do this - there's no documented course of action so it's going to have to be a very beta attempt on an alpha forum...
