Right after much prodding by the boss with a sharp stick here are my choices:-
Amelia - Misson
Closer - Nine Inch Nails
Anatolia - Pentagram
Das Glockenspiel - Schiller
and for those on broadband, :-
Goldie - Mother.
The top 4 I'm sharing on kazaa and soulseeker

sharing my views while i try to avoid work.
das glockenspiel schiller
i saw the nin track and thought "ah, a woman of taste. these other songs may interest me". i started to doubt myself when i heard this one. a lot of dance tracks of this style sound tacky to me and das glockenspiel is a pretty damned good example of that. it grows on you though; i quite liked it by the time the german dude kicked in at the end.
closer nine inch nails
reznor has said he thinks closer is let down a bit by the lyrics, and i'd say he has a point. they stop what is an excellent song from reaching the mass audience it deserves. it has a great hook, great composition, great production and although not totally relevant, a great video. and precursor is the best mix, obviously.
anatolia pentagram
do i recognise these folks? or maybe im just mixing them up with some scando-metal band. definately interesting, even a bit of originality. catchy as hell. i prefer my metal a little less theatrical, but it's worth keeping. the turkish version wins over the english btw.
amelia mission
my favourite of the list, other than closer. not sure what to say about it though. good lyrics. very simple tune compared to the rest, and all the better for it. i could live without the wee electronic thing doing the arpeggios in the background.
very hard to get the mother track. i'll try to get round to it.

Hmm, good point. Thanks for the reminder Kajun.
Amelia The Mission
I like this track, don't know much more of the Mission but nightowl seems to have loads on her PC so I might listen to them at some point.
Anatolia Pentagram
Awful, awful track - no matter what language it's in. It just doesn't seem to have any feeling behind it.
Closer NIN
Not my favourite NIN track but certainlly in my top ten. Some of the remixes are definitely worth checking out if anyone else liked this. Closer (Precursor) is one of my favourites.
HAven't had a chance to get the Schiller track yet but hopefully I'll get it soon.

You should try to track down the Richard Cheese version of Closer.
"Richard Cheese and Lounge Against The Machine - America's loudest Lounge singer croons Vesas versions of the hits"
Creep by Radiohead is another excellent cover of his
A great way to hear every word of the lyrics in various songs too
Those particular tracks arent available for free, but you can get the idea here:
