Reminder: Ixyl Is Officially A Boycott DST Forum

Post by Kajun »

Until the boys at Greenwich get their act together and just move time forward/backward 30 minutes as a one off, we aren't going to engage in the kind of tomfoolery demanded of their ridiculous suggestions.

If you want to keep your forum settings up to date, go to your profile and change the GMT setting to GMT+1. I ain't going to do this en masse though because ixyl is global and global ain't DST, just the idiots that think it's cool. A'ight.

Aye-ish. They argue against it but it seems fairly simple to me.

Of course, the server could just change their clock too.

But shall resist. It's all just a UPDATE phpbb_users SET user_timezone = 1 WHERE user_timezone = 0 IIRC, but we can't, we shan't, and we won't.

Could we start some sort of "30 minute either way" pressure group? It is frankly ridiculous that this day in age we are still clock fiddling!

I agree. But! We will need some sort of celibate figure to stand as our figurehead. Also are they technical problems involved in moving 30 minutes? (I.E. BEING COMPLETELY OUT OF SYNC WITH THE REST OF THE GLOBE)

The rest of the globe could learn to cope - it's only 30 minutes... After a few years nobody would notice I'm sure, or maybe we could start a trend.

Off to muse on celibate figurehead...

Or we could just not bother and live with GMT and the slightly darker evenings!

It'd be sure to damage tourism. One less idiosyncrasy...
